Motorcycle pilots ‘to help fight dacoities’
VASCO: With an increase in the number of dacoities in the state, Vasco police have sought the assistance of motorcycle pilots in the port town to fight the menace.
On Saturday evening the pilots were called to the police station to help identify the criminals.
Speaking to STOI, DySP Lawrence D’Souza said, “Before striking their target, thieves normally do a good amount of study of the locations and it is here where
they hire the services of public transport, many a times pilots.”
Police asked them to be vigilant and showed them how to identify such criminals.

The pilots were asked to inform the police control room immediately at 100 or the Vasco police station if they find any suspicious activity.
About 20 pilots attended the meet-cum-workshop. They were briefed by D’Souza and Vasco PI Sagar Ekoskar. Police will be calling in more public transport workers to help them to deal with the situation.
