Max temperatures register slight dip

Panaji: Goa experienced dry weather on Sunday, accompanied by a slight dip in maximum temperatures. The state capital, Panaji, recorded a maximum temperature of 32.5°C, nearly 2 degrees lower than the 34°C recorded in the previous week.

Mormugao also saw a decrease in its maximum temperature, reaching 32.3°C. The lowest minimum temperature in the entire state was recorded in Panaji, at 21.5°C.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has attributed this slight cooling to the predominantly easterly winds in the lower levels of the atmosphere over Goa. Looking ahead, the IMD forecast for the next 24 hours says that the maximum temperature may fall further.

According to the forecast, the skies will be mainly clear. Haze is likely in the morning, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to hover around 33°C and 21°C, respectively.

The IMD has also issued a fog advisory, forecasting moderate fog in the mornings until Feb 4. While the mornings may be shrouded in fog, the overall weather pattern for both North and South Goa is expected to remain dry until Feb 8. People can expect continued clear skies and a lack of rainfall during this period, according to the IMD.
