Man jumps off Galgibaga bridge, gets stuck in sludge, rescued

Canacona: Sarvesh Pednekar, 28, a resident of Waddamoll, Shristhal in Canacona was rescued by lifeguards and Canacona police after he jumped from the Galgibaga bridge into the river. Police said Pednekar got caught in the sludge due to the low tide when he attempted suicide. A passerby called lifeguards who then informed the police. Pednekar was rushed to the community health centre in Canacona and then shifted to South Goa district hospital. He was eventually referred to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) Bambolim.

Canacona police is investigating the case further under inspector Harish Raut Dessai.
