Ponda: The Bandora gramsabha on Sunday ended on an inconclusive note amid ruckus over the construction of the proposed sewage treatment plant at Undir.
The agitating villagers were demanding that the panchayat revoke the permit issued to the plant as the sewage corporation had not shown them the site where the processing plant would be located.
Local panch member Bhaskar Naik, who joined the agitators, alleged that the panchayat had not taken him into confidence before allowing the construction of the plant in his village ward.
The villagers had even stalled a gram sabha that was earlier scheduled to be held in the premises of the government primary school in front of the panchayat building. The panchayat had failed to seek the school authorities’ permission for the event.
