PANAJI: Voting is underway for the high-stake Panaji assembly seat bypoll on Sunday. The bye-election was necessitated due to the death of former chief minister Manohar Parrikar in March this year. Parrikar had represented the constituency for nearly two-and-a-half decades since 1994. Here are the updates:

* Panaji assembly constituency records 58.89% voting till 3pm

* Congress has filed a complaint with the CEO accusing BJP leader Dattaprasard Naik of issuing threats and offering money to voters

* 45% polling recorded till 1pm

* Goa had already witnessed by-elections to three other assembly seats and two Lok Sabha constituencies on April 23

* 31.48% polling recorded till 11am

* Counting of votes is scheduled for May 23

* Six candidates, including two Independents, are in the fray for the bye-election

* I am serious about moving casinos out of Mandovi river: Congress candidate Atanasio Monserrate

* Union Ayush minister Shripad Naik casts his vote

* 14.36% voting registered till 9am

* Goa Suraksha Manch candidate Subhash Velingkar casts his vote

* Congress candidate Atanasio Monserrate casts his vote

* As many as 22,482 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in the constituency

* BJP candidate Sidharth Kuncalienkar casts his vote

* Voting begins for assembly bypoll to the Panaji assembly constituency
