Kenyan held for international human trafficking
Panaji: The crime branch of Goa police on Thursday arrested a Kenyan national for allegedly running an international human trafficking racket.
Crime branch SP, Rahul Gupta, said that based on the complaint of a Kenyan survivor, an offence was registered. Gupta said that since Nov 18, 2024, the accused, Nancy King’ori, also known as Alian, procured the complainant and forced her into prostitution activities at Candolim. “The accused was found living off of the earnings of the complainant,” Gupta said.
During the course of the investigation, a team led by LPSI Pragati Malik and comprising staff from the crime branch police station was sent to Bengaluru to trace the accused.
“With the help of technical surveillance, King’ori was apprehended in Bengaluru, brought to the crime branch police station, and placed under arrest. The accused is the kingpin of human trafficking of Kenyan nationals,” Gupta said.
King’ori was produced before the Mapusa JMFC, who remanded her in seven days police custody, the SP said.
