Job scam: Pooja held for abetment to suicide

Ponda: Following a complaint lodged by Shruti, wife of Shridhar Satarkar alias Kerkar, the Mardol police have arrested Shravani alias Pooja Purushottam Naik alias Rupa Palkar, a resident of Kadamba Plateau, on Saturday for abetment to suicide. Kerkar, 51, worked as an attendant at the OBC corporation.

His body was found hanging from a tree at Kunkoliem-Mardol. Kerkar was reportedly missing from since Oct 30—a day after Pooja and her accomplice Ajit Satarkar were released on bail.

In her complaint, Shruti had alleged that through her husband, Pooja had collected the money from people on the pretext of providing govt jobs. However, she didn’t provide the assured jobs or return the money, which caused harassment and mental torture to her husband.

Naik was produced before a Ponda court and is currently in three-day police custody.
