IT corporation to create infrastructure for Tuem hub

: With the contour mapping and plot layout prepared for the proposed Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at

, Infotech Corp has decided to go ahead and create the basic infrastructure at Tuem.


The department has prepared the design for the Tuem EMC, including the road layouts, utility service ducts and boundary walls, all of which is expected to cost around Rs 67 crore, said officials. IT manufacturing firms will be invited to commence operations in the plots which are in the process of being earmarked, said sources.

InfoTech Corporation of Goa issued a request for proposal for the engineering design of road work to provide access to the plots. Allied service utilities and gateway will also be setup for the greenfield (EMC) in Tuem,

. Interested contractors have till February 4 to submit a bid with ITG expected to evaluate the technical bids on February 6. The ministry of electronics and information technology has given the approval for setting up of the facility and has sanctioned Rs 73.77 crore for the project which will come up in 147.55 acres.

Consumer electronics products, medical electronic equipment, telecom products and equipment, mobile devices and industrial electronics products have been identified as focus areas for the Tuem EMC.

The project should be complete within 36 months of the date of final approval for the project.
