Indo-Pak conflict takes toll on GALF

Delegates from Pakistan were conspicuous in their absence at the inauguration of the 7th Goa arts and literature festival (

) on Thursday.

Sharing his thoughts on the matter, president of The International Centre Goa, Yatin Kakodkar said, “We will miss the Pakistani delegation this year but hope that they will return when the bilateral ties improve between India and Pakistan.”

Escalating tensions between India and Pakistan post the Uri attacks had led to a sensitive situation over Pakistani artistes working in India. The unstable political climate saw the Centre issuing orders saying no visas are being granted to Pakistanis to travel to India.
