IMD extends heat warning for both districts to Feb 28
Panaji: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an extended heat warning for Goa, forecasting continued hot and humid conditions until Feb 28. The IMD has forecast maximum temperatures in the range of 35-37°C, with dry weather expected to prevail across both North and South Goa.
On Wednesday, dry conditions with hot and humid weather were observed throughout Goa. Panaji recorded a maximum temperature of 37.6°C, which is 5.2°C above the normal average, while Mormugao experienced 36.2°C, a deviation of 4.4°C from the usual temperature.
The IMD forecast says that similar conditions will persist over the next few days, with isolated pockets of North and South Goa expected to experience hot and humid conditions.

Both districts are likely to see dry weather. The high temperatures combined with humidity will make the weather uncomfortable for residents and visitors alike.
There is no immediate relief from these conditions, as the IMD forecast further says that the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 37°C and 22°C, respectively, over the coming 24 hours. The IMD has advised people to take necessary precautions, such as staying hydrated, avoiding direct exposure to the sun, and limiting outdoor activities during the peak heat hours of 11am to 3pm.
