a plastic-free zone. We will follow international norms to make the festival green. Possibly by 2019 (50th edition) we might become a fully green festival,” director, Iffi, Senthil Rajan told STOI.

The film festival has already decided to go paperless this year with its forms and entries available online.

Asked if the plastic ban will be limited only to polythene bags or even plastic cutlery, stationery etc, he said, “We will try to avoid as much plastic as possible but the convenience of the delegates will also be taken into account.”

The delegate, media and organizer IDs will continue to be printed on plastic cards.Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Women's Day wishes, messages and quotes !
