The topper in the ICSE exams in Goa, Shefalee Pai Vernekar of Vidya Vikas Academy, has scored as high a percentage as 95.57. Explaining the reason for this brilliant performance of the students, Rodrigues said, "It is a three way effort on the part of the students, their parents and the teachers. But we, the ICSE schools, are very focused when it comes to the childs performance."
He further added, "Our school for instance takes students who have a score of 45 per cent at the primary level and the same students score as much as 70 per cent in the tenth standard exams. Also, all the four ICSE schools work in co-ordination with one another to achieve good results."
Tereza Almeida, principal, Sharada Mandir, said, "The ICSE topper in India has scored 98 per cent and the topper in Goa has secured around 96 per cent. This means that Goa is not far behind. The performance of Goan students at the ICSE examination has been commendable all along. And they have proved their brilliance again."
