House in Sao Jose de Areal gutted in fire

MARGAO: A house belonging to Vilas Cardozo at Sao Jose de Areal was gutted in a fire that broke out on Wednesday morning. No casualties were reported.
Sources said the house was locked when the fire broke out at around 11am. Neighbours noticed smoke billowing out of the tiled-roof house and informed the fire and emergency services. Fire services personnel rushed to the site and managed to quell the flames.An electrical short circuit is believed to have caused the fire.
Surendra Naik, SDM Salcete, Triveni Velip, mamlatdar, Dy SP Mohan Naik and others visited the site to take stock of the situation.
