Hearing of Mhadei issue from today

PANAJI: The Mhadei Water Disputes Tribunal, New Delhi, will resume hearing of the Mhadei river water case on February 6.
This comes after written submissions were perbefore it by Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra in the matter.
Karnataka had begun work on the Kalsa project at Kankumbi even after its senior counsel had, on August 17 2017, told the Supreme Court no construction was on at the site and none would be undertaken.
Goa’s additional chief engineer (WRD) Premanand Kamat, had filed an interlocutory plea bringing to the tribunal’s notice the violations committed by Karnataka.
