PANAJI: The high court of Bombay at Goa on Thursday dismissed a petition filed by Ponda kiosk owners against Ponda Municipal Council's decision to shift them to the new market complex.

The petitioners challenged PMC's decision to shift them from their current location in Ponda city to the new municipal market complex.
After the order was pronounced, senior advocate Gilman Coelho Pereira, appearing for the kiosk owners, prayed that the judgment be stayed for six weeks as the petitioners may want to approach the Supreme Court. Subsequently, the bench granted a six-week stay on the judgment.
It may be recalled that on April 29, the high court had restrained PMC from going ahead with its plans, to shift the kiosks, until further orders.
