Governor palace to open doors on weekends

will be open to visitors thrice a week beginning January 5.

One can avail of a visit through an advance booking by paying an entry fee of Rs 300 per head, Raj Bhavan officials said. Governor

had announced on the occasion of Liberation Day that the Raj Bhavan will be accessible to the citizens and also to foreign nationals, “to see its rich history and heritage, flora and fauna of the place and above all its mesmerising scenic beauty from January 5, 2019.”

Visitors will be allowed in the precincts every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in two slots. The first slot for 50 visitors will be from 2.30pm and 4pm, while the second slot for 50 visitors will be scheduled between 4pm and 6pm, an official statement issued here said.

The visit to Raj Bhavan will be conducted by Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), a government of Goa undertaking. A tour guide will be provided for visitors. Visitors are informed to make online booking for visiting Raj Bhavan at bookings.rajbhavan.goa.gov.in and bookings will be accepted from December 30, 2018. This link will be provided on the Raj Bhavan, Goa website.

Visitors will have to register on the portal at least three days before the date of visit and entry will be subject to police verification. Confirmation of the booking will be intimated on SMS/email to the applicant.

In Raj Bhavan, a visitor information centre has been set up for further facilitation. A tour guide will accompany the visitors.
