Guirim youth held for murder of Nepal man

Panaji: Mapusa police have arrested Karan Shinde, 19, a resident of Guirim, for the murder of Nabin B K from Nepal. The arrest was made within 48 hours of the crime. Police used the help of CCTV footage and a dog squad to nab the accused.
The victim’s body was found on Saturday ar Morod, Mapusa. “Using the CCTV footage Mapusa police launched a massive manhunt and arrested Shinde.Police have successfully recovered the clothes that the accused person wore during the crime. The clothes have blood stains and match the CCTV footage,” said Valsan.
He added that during the custodial interrogation, the accused said that when he met the deceased they decided to drink alcohol and went to a field where a quarrel broken between the two. The accused then stabbed the deceased with a broken glass bottle.
The case was supervised by PI Paresh Naik.
