GTDC’s Mayem Mahotsav to be held on April 5
Panaji: After organising the Dudhsagar Festavista at Collem in Dec, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) plans to organise Mayem Mahotsav on April 5.
The event follows a growing trend by the tourism department to organise events beyond the national capital and in the hinterland.
The GTDC has moved to appoint an event management agency to organise the Mayem Mahotsav, which is most likely to be organised on govt Polytechnic Grounds at Mayem. The one-day event, which may see some singers from the national music scene performing, will give the state an opportunity to showcase the Mayem lake and other adventure activities around the area.
There will be performances from Goan artists and singers, group dance performances, folk dances, and a live band lined up for that day. The GTDC wants to give a traditional theme for the event, which is part of the ongoing efforts to highlight the heritage of Goa, said an official.
