Grill-bending thieves strike again at Quepem

Quepem: In what seems to be a similar modus operandi employed during a daylight robbery at Quepem on September 25, Quepem police stated that at around 3am on Tuesday, unidentified persons entered the house of Antonette Rebello by removing the bedroom window grills and stole two mobile phones, a gold ring and 2,000 in cash.
It may be recalled that, in September, robbers broke into Quepem resident Maria Goes' house by removing the window grills and decamped with gold ornaments worth 50 lakh.
Noticing that the house was occupied by only two women and their small children, burglars took advantage of the situation and broke into the bedroom. Rebello claims to have seen the burglars but decided to stay quiet fearing they might attack her if she shouted, as she was wearing gold ornaments. As soon as the burglars left from her house, she created an alarm, waking up the neighbours who called the police.
