Green budget to focus on waste management, infra: Goa CM Sawant
Panaji: CM Pramod Sawant said he will present a green budget with focus on waste management, strengthening infrastructure for tourism and enhancing time-bound online services and development of the state. The CM will present the budget on March 26.
Sawant, who also holds the finance portfolio, chaired a finance review meeting in the presence of the chief secretary, secretaries, both district collectors and HODs.
The CM reviewed the budget utilisation of FY 24-25 and the action plan for clearing pendencies in the last month of the financial year. He reviewed the implementation of centrally-sponsored schemes and new central schemes that can be implemented in the state.
In preparation of the state budget 25-26, Sawant directed the expeditious disposal of various pending cases at both the collectorates. He also reviewed various online services and the onboarding of new services in online mode.
With regards to social welfare schemes run by state govt, Sawant directed various departments to clear dues of DSSY, Laadli Laxmi, Griha Aadhaar, Kalakar Support Scheme and other social welfare schemes.
The CM also directed the officials to expedite the implementation of Aadhaar-based payment systems to enhance transparency.
During the meeting, deliberations took place on presenting a green budget, with focus on waste management, strengthening infrastructure for tourism, strengthening time-bound online services and development of the state.
Sawant said govt will consider the suggestions and inputs given by the people.
