Govt advertises 398 jobs: PSI, teacher positions among vacancies to be filled
Panaji: State govt on Friday advertised 398 Group C vacancies, including 187 posts of police sub-inspectors, 118 assistant teachers, and 57 technical assistants among others.
The other posts include drawing teachers in secondary schools, trained English teachers in govt primary schools, librarians, programmers, and technical officers. The last day for submitting applications is May 23.
The Goa Staff Selection Commission stated that candidates are instructed to review the syllabus and the scheme of examination for the posts published on the commission’s website. The commission will shortlist/select candidates on merit, based on the marks obtained in the computer-based test for the posts.
The commission said the candidates should ensure they possess the requisite educational qualifications and a valid 15-year residency certificate issued by the competent authority in Goa.
Other essentials are registration with a Goa employment exchange or a valid employment registration card, birth certificate, and caste/disabilities certificate as specified in instructions or orders issued by govt from time to time.
“Age relaxation is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved categories, i.e., five years for SC/ST, three years for OBC, and 10 years for persons with disabilities (PwD),” the commission said. “PwD from the SC/ST category are entitled to 15 years of age relaxation, and PwD from the OBC category are entitled to 13 years of age relaxation. Ex-servicemen shall be entitled to age relaxation as per the rules in force.”
Last month, chief minister Pramod Sawant said that in the next two years, govt will create around 12,000 direct jobs. He said govt is concerned about those who have completed graduation and postgraduation, as well as those who have dropped out after Class X and Class XII.
“In the next two years, govt will directly recruit 10,000 to 12,000 people through the Goa Staff Selection Commission, Goa Public Service Commission, Goa Human Resource Development Corporation, and other bodies,” Sawant said.
