Panaji: Goa’s tourism offerings, including evolving sustainable tourism initiatives, received an enthusiastic response and attracted interest from global travel stakeholders at the ITB Berlin 2025, a key European travel trade show, said the tourism department.
Rohan Khaunte was honoured with the ‘tourism minister of the year, India’ award.
The state’s tourism sector got a major boost at the Patwa International Travel Awards 2025, where Goa won the ‘destination of the year, India’ award.
The Goa tourism stall at ITB Berlin 2025 was inaugurated by India’s ambassador Ajit Gupte, joined by a high-level delegation led by tourism director Kedar Naik.

Department officials also showcased the state’s architectural heritage, culture, and cuisine.
“This recognition on a global platform highlights our commitment to responsible and innovative tourism. The success of ITB reflects Goa’s growing appeal among global travellers and industry leaders, with an overwhelming response to our tourism initiatives,” said Khaunte.
