Goa's chief minister promises streamlined comunidade operations and staff recruitment
Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday, after holding a meeting with comunidade officials said that the process of recruitment of staffers in all comunidades across Goa will be expedited and computerisation of all comunidades will be taken up shortly. He said every comunidade will get an independent clerk for proper record maintenance.
“All comunidades will be 100% streamlined. A full-time administrator will be appointed. Recruitment will be expedited. All processes of comunidades will be 100% computerised. I met them today and have understood their issues. Computer operators and clerks need to be appointed at all comunidades. Many comunidades have the funds for computerisation. Independent clerks are needed for maintenance of records. We are supporting them in every possible way. In North Goa itself, there are 75 comunidades,” Sawant said.
The CM that truck operators also met him on Wednesday. “Their say was that many players from outside the state have entered and are eating into their business. Just as we have streamlined mining truck operations, we will also streamline operations of other transport trucks,” Sawant said.
On Tuesday, the CM held a meeting with education officials and PWD officials in the state to review the progress of repairs of govt schools, ahead of the start of the new academic year 2025-26. From the 2025-26 academic year, classes for Classes VI to X and XII will begin from April 7.
Besides the repairs, the CM, who also holds the education portfolio, also discussed school cleanliness, disposal of scrap, equipment needs, water connections and student transport.
