Goa man held for stealing trailer truck from police custody

PANAJI: Shivram Ramakanth Kadam, a resident of Indiranagar, Chimbel, stole a trailer truck that was in the custody of the Old Goa police station.

Around three weeks ago, a trailer truck rammed into a shed at Old Goa at night. Workers sleeping in the shed had a narrow escape.

The driver of the truck said he lost control of the vehicle, leading to the accident.

The truck was then attached in a panchnama by the Old Goa police, and the vehicle was parked near ITI Corlim from where it was stolen by Kadam.

The truck was parked at Corlim as the Old Goa police station is presently operating from temporary premises while it awaits its new premises, the foundation stone for which was laid recently.
