Goa children’s court charges Suchana Seth with murdering son

Panaji: The Goa children’s court framed charges of murder against Bengaluru-based data scientist and CEO, Suchana Seth, who is accused of killing her four-year-old son at a Candolim-based serviced apartment on Jan 7 this year. The court also framed charges of child abuse under Section 8 of the Goa Children's Act. Charges for destruction of evidence were framed too.

After allegedly killing her son, she hired a taxi, checked out, and left for Bengaluru with the boy’s body stuffed in a bag. Subsequently, the housekeeping staff found bloodstains in the room and alerted the police. A six-line note scribbled by Suchana on a crumpled tissue found inside the suitcase bearing the body of her son alluded to a bitter custody battle with her husband.

Weeks after the incident, her father asked the court to direct the police to get Suchana examined by a civil surgeon or medical board to ascertain her mental condition.

The IPHB then stated that she was examined by a panel of doctors, and questions posed to her were answered in a sane manner.
