German man held with drugs worth Rs 24L
Panaji: A 45-year-old German national, Sebastian Hesler, was arrested by Goa police for allegedly possessing narcotic substances worth Rs 24 lakh. Superintendent of police (SP) ANC Tikam Singh Verma stated that Hesler was apprehended during a raid.
He was found with narcotic substances such as LSD blot papers, ketamine powder, ketamine liquid, and 2 kg of ganja, estimated to cost Rs 24 lakh. The German national had been living in Goa on a tourist visa since Nov last year.
Last month, the ANC arrested a West Bengal native, Agni Sengupta, for allegedly possessing a commercial quantity of MDMA and cocaine worth Rs 7.5 lakh. Following further investigation and subsequent intelligence collection, the ANC managed to zero in on the German national.
The ANC conducted two raids in a week and seized cash worth Rs 35,000 in Indian currency and euros. Goa police also arrested 15 people and seized drugs worth around Rs 25 lakh.
On average, every alternate day, one person was arrested by Goa police in connection with narcotic cases in Jan.
