Fire department trains 36 hotel staff from across India

PANAJI: The directorate of fire and emergency services on Saturday completed a 15-day special training course in general fire prevention and fire fighting for 36 employees of starred hotels operating across the country. The training consisted of both theoretical and practical classes.

Participants were trained in various areas on fire prevention and protection measures such as fixed fire fighting installation, evacuation drill procedure, technological advancement in the field of fire fighting and disaster management among others.

The department has, till date, successfully trained 705 trainees from the Taj Group of Hotels.

Director of fire and emergency services Nitin Raiker was the chief guest for the valedictory function. Guest faculties including former chief fire officer, CIDCO, Arvind Mandke and Praveen Khemka from Tuffwud conducted theoretical classes for the trainees.
