FDA shuts food establishments for unhygienic operations
Panaji: The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), during a special drive at Alto-Dabolim, shut down three establishments, Bangalore Bakery, J V Shetty repacker unit, and Priya Sweets and Snacks, for operating in unhygienic conditions and without licences.
The FDA destroyed mawa worth Rs 8,000, found without proper labelling. The bakery was found using expired liquid colours. Its flooring was dirty, and pest control and sanitary cards were not available, said the officials.

It imposed penalties on two food business operators. The FDA team comprised Richard Noronha, designated officer, with Rajaram Patil, Amit Mandrekar, and Lenin De Sa.
