Amonkar said that although the RBI came up with a moratorium period of six months it did not offer the clarity on the interest to be charged. “Since September 1, most banks chasing people for repayment. However, while some have given people additional time, but have levied additional interest to a tune of up to Rs 48,000,” he said.

“We want that all the four BJP MLAs representing the Mormugao taluka to take up this issue with the government,” Amonkar said.
