‘Enemy?’ wins award at film fest in Italy

Panaji: National award-winning Konkani film ‘Enemy?’ has bagged the best foreign language feature film award at the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema, Milan.
Producer Allaparthi Durga Prasad and director Dinesh P Bhonsle received the award in Italy. The film competed with 11 other films from India, Pakistan, Japan, Portugal, France and China and was officially nominated in five different categories namely best foreign language film, best director, best cinematographer (Vikramkumar Amaldi), best actor (Salil Naik) and best supporting actor (Antonio Crasto).

The film also won the best film award at the recently held Haryana International Film Festival, 2016, where Salil Naik won best actor and Meenacshi Martins best supporting actress.
The film has now been selected for the Kolhapur International Film Festival 2016 scheduled to take place this month. The film focuses on the crucial subject of the Enemy Property Act, 1965, that affects Goans born in Karachi, Pakistan once a part of British India and regarded as an enemy nation today. tnn
