Electricity department, talathi get new offices in Calangute

CALANGUTE: Calangute sarpanch Geeta Parab inaugurated the newly renovated office of the electricity department and talathi at the Calangute panchayat ghar on Wednesday afternoon. Calangute panchayat members, parish priest Fr Cipriano D'Silva, electricity department officials and others were present at the function.
Parab said the office was in a shabby condition and needed improvement."Step-by-step we are improving various facilities in Calangute. There are many works left do be done and we hope to complete them with the co-operation of the people," a panch member added. Panchayat member Joseph Sequeira said the land acquisition process for the sub-station is on and hoped that the sub-station would be a reality within two years.
