Drishti Marine rescues 5 Russians, urges public caution

Calangute: Lifeguarding agency Drishti Marine has urged beachgoers to exercise caution after rescuing five Russian women from drowning in two separate incidents on Tuesday.

Drishti Marine has appealed to beachgoers to act responsibly, follow lifesavers’ instructions, and ensure public safety, especially with foreign tourists peaking in Dec.

Three Russian women aged 30-40 were stuck in a rip current while swimming together at Candolim. A lifesaver quickly rescued them using a rescue board.

Two Russian women, aged 51 and 52, were rescued from a rip current at the beach by lifesavers Swapnil Farade, Samit, and Dasharath Sangodkar. The first victim was rescued using a rescue tube and the second by a jetski.
