Divers recover second body at Savorde

Valpoi: Navy divers have successfully recovered the body of Gaurav Singh who accidentally drowned recently at the waterfall at Savorde, Sattari.

The group of eight youngsters from Vasco had gone to the seasonal waterfall at Savorde on Monday.

Two of the group members drowned and the body of one was retrieved on the same day. tnnHowever, the other body could not be traced. Search operations conducted on Tuesday by personnel of the Valpoi fire station too were futile.

Finally, on Wednesday, navy divers were called in and the body recovered, Valpoi fire officer Santosh Gawas said.

Meanwhile, Sattari locals have expressed concern about the number of mishaps and tragedies at the various seasonal waterfalls in Sattari after a spurt in the number of visitors. They have demanded that visitors be banned.
