Digital life certificate drive simplifies pension process

Margao: More than 300 life certificates were generated using the Jeevan Pramaan App at SBI branches in Ponda and Margao, South Goa, on Tuesday as part of the nationwide Digital Life Certificate Campaign 3.0.

The department of pension & pensioners’ welfare (DoPPW) initiative aims to simplify life certificate submission through face authentication technology, allowing pensioners to submit certificates via Aadhar-based recognition on Android smartphones.

The undersecretary of DoPPW, Deepak Gupta, SBI officials, and UIDAI representatives assisted pensioners in submitting certificates. The campaign marks significant progress from traditional methods that required pensioners to visit disbursing authorities in person.

Campaign 3.0 will cover 800 locations nationwide, expanding from the previous successful campaigns of 2022 and 2023. The initiative includes special arrangements for

extremely old and disabled pensioners, including home visits, ensuring accessibility for all beneficiaries, even in remote areas.
