Cousins assault Canacona youth over family dispute

Canacona: Madhu Zore, 23, a resident of Fulamol, Gaondongrim, was brutally assaulted on Sunday by his cousins—Janu Zore, Bombo Zore and Deepak Zore—over a family dispute.

DySP Nilesh Rane said the accused used a crowbar, wooden stick, and a chopper to assault Madhu.


A complaint by the victim’s brother Dhavo T Zore states that the victim had gone in search of his buffalo when the accused confronted him and after picking up a quarrel, assaulted him, causing him serious bleeding injuries.

At first Madhu was referred to the Community Health Centre, Canacona, but was later rushed to the South district hospital in Margao. He was transferred to GMC due to his serious condition.

The police are investigating and a case of attempt to murder is being registered against the accused under Sections 109 of BNS read with 3(5) of BNS, said DySP Rane.
