PANAJI: The two-day coastal security exercise, ‘Sagar Kavach’, will be held in Goa on October 28 and 29 to assess the present progress of the coastal security mechanism.
Sources said ‘Sagar Kavach Goa 02/16’, a comprehensive coastal security exercise is to provide seamless seaward cover along the Goa coast jointly by all security agencies from the coastal belt to the limit of territorial water, which is 12 nautical miles.
The exercises will assess the effectiveness of coastal fishing community.
The coastal security exercise will be supervised by the chief secretary and will be conducted and coordinated by the Indian Coast Guard. The
Indian Coast Guard, Navy, Goa Police, state coastal security intelligence agencies, MPT, Captain of Ports, CISF and customs will participate.
