GFP general secretary Mohandas Lolienkar said that party president Vijai Sardesai will raise the issues during the July session of the Goa Legislative Assembly.

"We have submitted a memorandum and demanded that raincoats, uniforms should be provided on priority to the students. Para teachers and contract teachers salaries should be given on time. Our party will monitor this," said Lolienkar. He said that mid-day meals ensure proper growth and also encourage children to attend school. He said that failure to provide children with mid-day meals, raincoats and uniforms will create difficulties for these students, especially during the rainy season, discouraging them from attending school regularly.

The state government had decided to transfer funds to the parents for the uniforms and raincoats, instead of purchasing and providing them to the students.
