PANAJI: R Mohana Sundaram, 23, a student at Audio and sound engineering and professional disc jockey (DJ), Chennai, was arrested by the Anti narcotic cell (ANC) on Wednesday, who also seized narcotic substances worth 8 lakh from him.
"During initial interrogation of the accused, he revealed that he hails from a well-to-do- family. He is a second year student at Audio and sound engineering, Chennai, and he is a professional DJ.

He has performed at musical shows in various clubs/discos in Goa," said police sources.
The accused was produced before the Judicial magistrate first class (JMFC), Mapusa, and the court granted two days police custody to aid further investigation. Further investigation is in progress, police sources told TOI.
Sources also said that Sundaram was not a permanent resident of Goa and he was a frequent visitor here. On getting information from reliable sources, the ANC team conducted a narcotic raid near the football ground at Vagator and Anjuna and arrested Sundaram for being in illegal possession of 451 LSD papers weighing 5.9g, 14.1g of ketamine and 3.3g of charas valued at 8 lakh in the international market. The team also recovered 1,050 cash, blackberry mobile and a red colour scooter.
The ANC registered the case under Sections 20(b)(ii)(A) &22(c) of NDPS Act, 1985. PI Suraj Halarnkar, LPSI Vishya Pagui, PSI Somnath Mahajik, PCs Jitendra Kambli, Prakash Polekar and George D' Cunha conducted the raid.
