PONDA: Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar on Saturday said that the state government has received the Centre's nod for construction of a parallel bridge on the Khandepar river, and that the government has already submitted a detailed project proposal for the same.
Mamledar also said that the PWD minister Ramkrishna 'Sudin' Dhavalikar is in New Delhi to get the Union government's final clearance for the bridge project.

Speaking to reporters at Ponda on March 1, 2013, the PWD minister had declared that the state government has received no objection from the Union ministry for the construction of bridges and expansion of the National highway 17 and 4-A. He had said that the state government has already received a NOC for the construction of the Khandepar bridge along with bridges on Zuari, Talpona and Galgibag rivers and that the government was in the process of preparing a detailed project report.
He also said that work on the construction of the two-km long bypass at Khandepar has already begun which will also include the construction of a parallel bridge on the Khandepar river.
Mamledar said that the government has already submitted its detailed project profile on the Khandepar bridge along with other project proposals regarding sewage treatment plant and expansion of national highways in Goa to Union ministries and that Dhavalikar will follow it up with the concerned ministers during his New Delhi visit.
