Cavrem locals want villagers released

Margao: Protesting against the arrest of a few locals by the Quepem police for obstructing mining transportation at Cavrem on Monday and Tuesday, villagers gathered at the Quepem police station Wednesday afternoon demanding the release of the arrested locals.

The Cavrem villagers were later joined by the DefExpo protestors at Quepem and both the groups jointly held a protest march through the town.

The five Cavrem locals arrested by the Quepem police on Tuesday later moved for bail.
