Case against five for assaulting taxi driver at Ashvem
Mapusa: Mandrem police have registered a case against five individuals for allegedly restraining and assaulting a 36-year-old taxi driver outside a resort in Ashvem on Friday.
Tumbagi alleged that five individuals blocked his vehicle. The situation escalated when one of the suspects slapped him.
Another individual forcibly opened the driver-side door, snatched the vehicle’s keys, and struck the complainant on his right shoulder with them, causing minor injuries.
Police have identified and questioned two suspects — Ashvem resident Tulshidas and Parcem resident Yogesh Atmaram Shivji.
Other suspects remain at large. Head constable Mahesh Gaonkar is further investigating this case.
