Canacona to get film city, will ease unemployment: Tawadkar

Canacona: Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar announced that a film city is set to be established in Canacona, and govt is working on it to significantly address unemployment issues.

Addressing the public on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day celebration at deputy collector’s office, Tawadkar said that we have to gain knowledge of the struggles and atrocities faced by our ancestors and freedom fighters during the colonial rule.

Tawadkar also said that besides learning from books about Goa’s struggles under Portuguese rule and the sacrifices made by people for liberation, there is a need to know about the efforts by people regarding the development after Goa's liberation.

“We have now reached a stage where we can take Goa to the next level over the next 25 to 50 years,” he said.
