Canacona police file FIR against trio in Rs 15 lakh job scam

Canacona: An FIR was launched against three persons by Canacona police on Thursday for allegedly inducing a person to pay Rs 15 lakh to provide a govt job as a civil engineer in PWD.

Acting on the complaint of Nisha Chari, a native of Iddar-Loliem, Canacona police registered a case against three accused, identified as Mithil Chari of Mahalwada, Poinguinim, Pritesh Chari of Iddar-Loliem, and Parag Raikar of Margao.

Police informed that an amount of Rs 6 lakh was transferred to Pritesh from the bank account of the complainant, Rs 6 lakh was paid to Mithil from the bank account of the complainant’s husband, and the remaining amount of Rs 3 lakh was given partly in cash and partly through net banking.

Police further informed that the total amount was transferred to Parag Raikar of Margao.

Further investigation is being conducted by police sub inspector Babu Dessai under the supervision of police inspector Harish Raut Dessai.
