Canacona bypass repairs after Chaturthi

Canacona: The Manohar Parrikar bypass road with two bridges along the route at Talpona and Galgibaga was inaugurated in Nov 2019 with much fanfare, but the road gradually turned out to be a nightmare for motorists as several faults in the project surfaced.
A joint inspection of the highway project was recently held by local councillors along with the public works department engineers. However, the work of repairs needed couldn't materialise due to unexpected heavy rain.
Patnem-Colomb councillor Shubham Komarpant said that in March this year he had written a letter to highway executive engineer (EE) Pritesh Naik in view of several hurdles faced by commuters in the 5-year-old Manohar Parrikar bypass road from Char-rasta to Mashem.
“Based on this letter, the joint inspection was carried out. The executive enginerr has assured that the road will be repaired and rectified after Ganesh Chaturthi,” Komarpant said.
