Cabinet approves 31,280sqm area for hotel at Reis Magos
Panaji: Almost a year after the Goa Investment Promotion Board notified 31,280sqm swathe at Reis Magos in Bardez as an ‘investment promotion area’, the state cabinet granted approval for the establishment of a 5-star and 4-star hotel and multilevel car parking in individual hotel buildings. Additionally, there will be landscaping, illumination, and an approach road to the activities and facilities provided by the project proponent Spark Healthline Pvt Ltd.
Spark Healthline, which had made an online application to set up the project at Reis Magos, had got the in-principle approval in 2016 for 46,815sqm as an investment promotion area.
But the board, in its 34th and 35th board meetings, respectively, amended the in-principle approval that Spark Healthline had received in 2016 and recommended that the notification be issued for a reduced area of 31,280sqm. This includes 13,943.9sqm of settlement area outside CRZ, 10,102sqm of orchard area outside CRZ, and 7,234.6sqm of natural area at Reis Magos for setting up a 5-star and 4-star hotels.
