BJP-MGP will get 2/3 majority in 2027 elections, says Fadnavis
Panaji: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said the BJP-MGP alliance will get a 2/3 majority in the next assembly election scheduled to be held in 2027. Chief minister Pramod Sawant said that in the next eight months state govt will create around 5,000 jobs.
BJP held a public meeting in Ponda a day before campaigning ends for the Ponda byelection. Around 1,500 people attended the public meeting. BJP leaders urged the people of Ponda to vote for BJP candidate Ritesh Naik to pay tribute to former chief minister and agriculture minister Ravi Naik, who died last Oct.
“This one seat will not have any effect on govt,” Fadnavis said, adding that even if the opposition did not support the BJP candidate, he hoped that the people of Ponda would elect Ritesh in the byelection and pay tribute to Ravi.
Fadnavis said that even an investment of Rs 8,000 crore in Goa was discussed at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He added that former chief minister Manohar Parrikar introduced social welfare schemes, and Sawant continued with those schemes. Fadnavis said that a lot of countries have called an emergency, and some countries even announced a three-day week, four-day week or work from home in view of the US-Israel and Iran war, but the PM provided oil and gas to each and every one.
Sawant said that through the Goa Staff Selection Commission around 2,500 jobs will be filled and around 2,500 jobs would be created for those who completed Class XII and undergraduate studies through the Goa Human Resource Corporation.
Sawant said that as promised in the BJP manifesto, the sub-district hospital at Ponda will be upgraded to a district hospital. Sawant said state has earmarked Rs 100 crore and govt wants the same amount in the next nine months for the development of Ponda and Curti.
