BJP has been party with a difference, it should avoid mistakes of Congress: Nitin Gadkari
PANAJI: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari addressed a Goa BJP executive meeting near Panaji, attended by party leaders including Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. In his speech, Gadkari emphasized the importance of the BJP being a "party with a difference," as stated by his mentor and former Deputy PM L K Advani.
Gadkari cautioned against the BJP repeating the mistakes made by the Congress, which led to their exit from power. He stressed that if the BJP commits the same errors, there would be no point in the Congress' exit and the BJP's entry. The Union Minister highlighted that people have elected the BJP due to the Congress' mistakes.
The Lok Sabha MP from Nagpur urged party cadres to understand that politics is an instrument for bringing social and economic reforms. He emphasized the need to create a corruption-free country and having a plan in place to achieve this goal.
Referring to politics in Maharashtra, Gadkari expressed his decision not to follow the trend of caste-based politics (jativadi rajkaran). He warned, "Jo karega jaat ki baat, usko padegi kaske laath (the one who will speak about caste will get a strong kick)," emphasizing that a person is known by their values, not their caste.
Nitin Gadkari advised Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to conduct a state-wide survey during a BJP state executive meeting in Taleigao. The purpose of the survey is to assess the government's performance and identify any grievances citizens may have.
Gadkari stressed the importance of addressing these issues efficiently in the next two years to ensure BJP's victory in the 2027 state assembly elections.
He said, "I want to advise the chief minister to do a survey to know the people's opinion about govt performance and also to know if people have any grievances against govt. Work efficiently during the next two years to address any issues that citizens may have. If we do that, then in 2027, BJP will definitely come back to power in Goa with a clear majority."
Gadkari also highlighted the significance of conducting performance audits for elected representatives and ministers, considering them more essential than financial audits.
