PANAJI: BJP state president Sadanand Shet Tanavade said that 100 episodes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann ki Baat’ will be commemorated on April 30 in Goa with party workers across booths in the state listening in along with ministers and MLAs.
Tanavade said that chief minister Pramod Sawant’s 50th birthday on April 24 will be heralded by several citizen-focused programmes held through the day.
“All party workers acr-oss more than 1,700 booths in the state will listen to Mann ki Baat on April 30 to mark the 100 episodes of the programme,” Tanavade said. “Similar events will be organised across the country. In his talk, the Prime Minister highlights various social subjects, which are completely unrelated to politics.”
Tanavade added, “We will achieve 100% audience target on the day, except in Nuvem, Velim, and Benaulim, where we will ensure that at least 50% hear the programme.”
In the rest of the 38 constituencies, 100% booths will hear Mann ki Baat and all ministers and MLAs will participate, said Tanavade.
“On April 24, our CM Pramod Sawant will complete 50 years of age. Since taking over as the CM, over the past four years, he has not celebrated his birthday in a big way,” Tanavade said. “We will mark his birthday through programmes focused on service, good administration, and the welfare of the poor, which have been the focus during his tenure.”
On the same day, the Devi Lairai jatra in Shirgao and the Milagres feast in Mapusa will be celebrated and the CM will seek blessings at both the locations, said Tanavade. “At 8.30am, he will take the darshan of Devi Lairai. He will then visit a family called Satardekars in Assonora, who are the beneficiaries of a state government scheme,” Tanavade said. “He will have breakfast with the family. He will then visit the Milagres feast in Mapusa.”
