Bike rental dispute: Father & son assaulted at Saligao
Mapusa: A local businessman and his son were assaulted by a few individuals at Saligao on Sunday evening following a dispute over the "queue system" for rental bikes.Mahesh Naik, the owner of the bike rental business, and his son Manjit, both residents of Grand Morod, were attacked near a hotel in Saligao.

Based on the complaint lodged by Manjit Naik, Saligao police have registered a case against Krishna Kerkar, Rajendra Kerkar and Dilip Kerkar, all residents of Grand Morod, Saligao, for assaulting the complainant and his father with fist blows and kicks and for threatening them. Latesh Mandrekar and Nilesh Mandrekar have also been booked for wrongfully restraining the complainant’s father from rescuing the complainant during the assault.The dispute arose over a recently introduced rental bike queue system, which Mahesh had refused to join to run his business independently, which provoked the attackers."We were assaulted while renting out our bikes without any reason. I am not part of that system and will run my own business,” said Mahesh.
