PANAJI: Bicholim excise officials seized 304 pouches of whisky from a bus travelling to Maharashtra, on January 20. Sources said the liquor is worth 3,040.
Since the election code of conduct came into force on December 24, 2011, Bicholim excise officials have booked 11 cases including four cases against liquor selling premises operating beyond prescribed hours.
Six cases of illegal sale or possession of liquor have also been booked.
In all, 2.97 bulk litres of beer, 3.28 bulk litres of Indian manufactured foreign liquor (IMFL) and 438 bulk litres of cashew feni have been seized by the Bicholim excise, informed sources. tnn
